Laundry Detergent. There are so many out there, how do you know what's right for you? Well, trial and error. Anne from Greenchild Creations was so kind to send me the kit she put together for this detergent. You absolutely cannot go wrong with this DIY kit! Let me tell you how simple it is.
Everything you need comes in it, except the water measuring cup, pan, and pint jar. The directions are simple and so easy to follow. She lays everything out step by step so there is no confusion. In forty minutes you have laundry soap! Honestly, it's that simple!
The trickiest part of the whole thing is getting the simmering temp just right so that you aren't boiling over and such. You need to watch it while is simmers for the thirty minutes, stirring occasionally.

Anne suggest that you beat the soap nuts, so that you make a more powerful detergent. I will say it is therapeutic to smash these little guys up. You don't NEED to smash them, so do this step only if you want too.
I believe soap nuts are reusable, you can do an internet search to find out how to save them for next time. I love the idea of soap nuts, because they're organic. Not only that, but you are learning to fix things yourself. Being self sufficient is an amazing feat, and it's so rewarding when you see yourself succeed at something you use every day.

This soap works wonderfully. We cloth diaper and that's ideally what I use it for. You can use it for just about anything, though, I wouldn't use on whites. My diapers come out clean, and no build up at all. I am impressed with this recipe Anne has come up with.
1-2 tsp depending on load size and how soiled it is. This will be anywhere from 30-96 loads of laundry! How easy is that?
Anne also sells a variety of things in her Etsy shop--soaps, salves, diapers, pin cushions and more. Stop by and let her know you saw this review!
