Because they are amazing, and provide life sustaining liquid gold! That sounds too intense for you? Oh, well, then stop reading.
I am proud of how my breasts have kept my children alive for their first year! I am proud that I had the support and encouragement needed to proceed and continue even when I thought I couldn't. I am also thankful that I never had to endure rude comments about feeding my babies because I probably would have lost my mind pretty quickly!

I really hope that one day women can walk into any situation and feed their baby if hungry! Rude comments, snide sneers, and just genuinely hateful people need not apply. For the same reason other mom's don't want their choices ridiculed why would you do so to a mother who is feeding her child the way nature intended for her too?
What's that? You nay sayers are debating this is a natural right to a mother? Have you taken a good look at what women have done before bottles and formulas? If a mother couldn't nurse her baby they had a "wet nurse" who did it. A wet nurse was just another person (usually close friend or family member) who nursed your baby for you. Yeah, that's right, it happened.
Today, we have the knowledge and education to know that there is formula if that's the way you choose. Nothing wrong with that, in fact sometimes that's the best choice for mom and baby. But in a lot of cases, should a mother choose to give her child the milk her body creates, bullies should just hush their mouths.
And with that, I will leave you with a couple of photos of my daughter nursing. If it burns your eyes, don't look. If you love it please share this post, and leave me a comment!
